The role:

With a stable workload and diversity of contracts, you wont be bored in the Great North:

​Residential subdivisions and full housing developments for Kainga Ora, Iwi and Private Developers Roading projects, bridging, slip repair and projects for local and central government agencies. Three waters projects for local government, Commercial property developments (often including both Civil and Vertical construction elements), Bulk water storage, dams, reservoirs and tanks. Horticultural and agricultural land development, Forestry, Roading construction... have we missed anything off the list?

... On top of all that - there's heaps of opportunity to progress into Project management if that's what you want.

The role:

  • Preparation of accurate cost estimates for civil engineering projects based on project specifications and drawings.

  • Analysing tender documents to determine the scope, materials, labour, and equipment requirements

  • Collaborate with company owners, project managers, clients, engineers, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements

  • Identify risks and ultimately submit bids that demonstrate value for all parties

  • Keep current with industry trends, material costs, and labour rates to ensure cost estimates are accurate and competitive.

  • Preparing non-price attributes to support tender submissions. Participate in negotiations with clients and subcontractors. The successful candidate should:

You will need:

  • A tertiary qualification in civil engineering or construction-related qualification

  • Be Proficient in Estimating Software

  • Understand construction methods, materials, and costs

  • Have strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment

  • Understand NZ construction contracts

  • Have the ability to identify and manage risks
