Business Development Representative

The company are recycling wizards, specialising in scrap steel works for repurposing and renewing.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced Sales Manager to do some magic and jump on board with a growing market leader.

The role:

As a Business Development rep for a busy scrap metal recycling yard, you will be a key factor to the growth of the company and sourcing new business opportunities and relationships. 

 

With a competitive base salary - $60,000 - $80,000k (depending on the kind of experience you have had in the industry or related industries) an incentive scheme, car and fuel card - you have yourself a surefire recipe for success, as you help to grow new business relationships AND help to keep NZ "clean and green" - the way we all like it! 
 

You will be:

  • Acquiring new customers and identifying potential customers 

  • Servicing and maintaining existing customers.

  • Understanding customer requirements and constraints, and delivering practical, mutually beneficial scrap metal service solutions.

  • Recording all customer details and daily BDR activity

  • Ensuring all administrative tasks are completed thoroughly and on time

  • Building and maintaining key relationships with industry relevant organisations

  • Be a key contributor of the implementation of sales processes within the business

  • Marketing 

  • Follow up on all sales leads

  • Convert sales leads into customers

  • Planning and execution of customer site visits

  • Handle customer queries and complaints

  • Ensure health safety and environmental risks are considered and identified for of all workers when scoping all site work

  • Ensure jobs are priced accordingly and correctly 

  • Create and establish rapport with prospective and existing customers

 

You will need 

  • First and foremost, be a "people person" 

  • Excellent with conversation and building relationships

  • High level of health, safety and environmental risk awareness with a proactive approach

  • Ability to relate well to different types of people.

  • Integrity, personal responsibility and honesty

  • Strong attention to detail.

  • Takes initiative and demonstrates problem solving abilities.

  • Ability to see through tasks to completion
